What is Active Recovery

When you engage in intense exercise, our muscles can develop tin micro-tears. These tears are part of a natural process: your body repairs and rebuilds these muscles into stronger, more robust versions to handle future challenges. However, the short-term aftermath can be less pleasant, often involving discomfort, inflammation, and swelling in the affected muscles. Active compression addresses these issues by enhancing blood circulation through external pneumatic compression. This technique effectively pumps blood back toward the heart, decreasing the space available for swelling within the muscles and promoting proper muscle fiber alignment. In essence, active compression mimics the natural action of muscles, reducing the risk of injury, swelling, and soreness. It also accelerates muscle recovery, enabling better athletic performance and quicker returns to peak condition.

The Human Body

The human body is an intricate system, and the circulatory system is no exception. It consists of three circuits: coronary, pulmonary, and systemic. The coronary circuit supplies blood to the heart itself, while the pulmonary circuit transports blood to and from the lungs. The systemic circuit serves the rest of the body. Oxygen-rich arterial blood is carried from the heart through arteries and distributed via capillaries. After oxygen, nutrients, and hormones are delivered, oxygen-depleted venous blood returns to the heart through capillaries, veins, and valves. Returning blood to the heart requires working against gravity, especially from the legs, where about 90% of the venous return depends on the action of calf muscle pumps. The Preperformance massage device enhances this process by stimulating blood flow, reducing strain on the muscles, and optimizing circulatory efficiency.

Why our PREPERFORMANCE

PREPERFORMANCE ™ stands out from other active compression devices on the market. It features a graduated compression mode designed to improve blood circulation and prevent leg swelling. By mimicking the natural skeletal muscle pump activated after intense exercise, it aids in returning blood to the heart, reducing swelling and minimizing muscle injury. The device also helps disperse lactic acid buildup and increases oxygenation to tissues, shortening your body's recovery time between workouts. Think of it as a recovery boost, letting you squeeze in an extra session whenever you want. Its portability means you can use it anytime, anywhere -perfect for life on the go. PREPERFORMANCE ™ isn't just for fitness enthusiasts. Sitting for long periods can slow circulation, leading to blood pooling, leg swelling, and a higher risk of varicose veins or deep vein thrombosis. By improving circulation, PREPERFORMANCE ™ reduces these risks, leaving your legs feeling fresh even after long flights or hours at a desk.
